About

Neil O'Sullivan

Neil O'Sullivan believes that anyone can — and should — learn to manage their financials with knowledge, understanding, and confidence. His strengths include all aspects of client communication, especially giving new companies firm understandings of basic accounting principles, teaching individuals the ins and outs of their financial goals, and guiding organizations through audits to strengthen their financial positions. Neil also believes in the power of the community to improve the individual and building bridges for the best possible outcome.

Through his varied career — focusing on accounting at Ernst & Young, NYC (1990-1992) and SONY, Inc (NJ) (1992-1994), then heading his family business, Healy-O’Sullivan Travel (1994-2009) before starting up his own companies, first Cherian, O’Sullivan & Tatapudy LLP (2003-2008) and now Neil T. O’Sullivan CPA (2009-present) — Neil has shown his versatility with numbers, his strength in dealing with people and his ability to meet deadlines and focus despite his love of multi-tasking. After all, only a man with confidence in those around him would schedule his wedding for April 17th, two days after taxes are due!

In 2017, Neil was asked to join the Board of Directors of Volumetric Fund, Inc. Volumetric Fund is a No-Load Mutual Fund. The Fund typically invests in a broadly diversified portfolio of large and mid-cap domestic stocks. They use a system known as the “Volume and Range System” to identify market inflows and outflows. And Volumetric isn’t Neil’s only extracurricular. As a first-generation American, Neil’s ties to Ireland are incredibly strong. He’s served as the President of the Irish Travel Agents of North America, and is a founder and recent President of the Friendly Sons of Saint Patrick. Neil’s a proud member of the Ancient Order of Hibernians, Division #3. For the past ten years he's been the Host/Announcer at the Grandstand for the Rockland County AOH’s St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Pearl River and the leader of multiple tours of Ireland. His passion and interest in his heritage are strong. He’ll happily speak about the history, politics, and local haunts of his family in Ireland.

From the bedrock of family comes the connection to the community. Neil joined the Pearl River Chamber of Commerce in 1994, has served on the Board of Directors and was treasurer for the organization. He’s also been part of the Pearl River Rotary Club since April 1998. Neil has also supported the Meals on Wheels of Rockland since 2002, delivering food to those in need. He can also be found regularly dispensing financial advice at the various golf courses around Rockland County!

Even before his children (Timothy, Bridget, and Ryan) were born, Neil was coaching for the Pearl River Little League. Now he’s on their board of directors and manages both his son’s and daughter’s teams. This keeps him very busy, but it’s a chaos he enjoys. He’s also been OMM (Orangetown Mighty Midgets) Soccer Coach for five years. As an avid Mets and Jets fan, Neil’s used to recovering from crushing disappointment and is always convinced that this is their year. His wife, Kate (nee McGrath), supports these delusions.

Neil believes in the power of connections — in family, in business and in the community. The best part of his day is seeing how clients have improved from his advice. With over six hundred clients, Neil balances the personal interaction with comprehensive, swift decision making. He keeps up with the latest tax changes and economic developments to ensure all his clients are in the best position to achieve their goals.
